Meet The Walkers
Walkers couldn’t be as good as it is without our great team.
Our Managers and Staff are the team who really “Walk the Walk” every day. They are trained in animal behavior and first aid – and they love and care for our guests like their own.
Please stop in for a tour anytime so you can Meet the Walkers and we’ll be happy to show you what we have to offer.
Managers
I grew up surrounded by animals. My mother showed and bred champion blood line Border Collies and my father always had dogs in the house. This is where my love and passion came from for animals. I am the proud father of 6 cats with my wife, Katiana. I enjoy spending time with family, hiking, and fishing. I have been with Walkers since 2015, working here as a Junior Kennel Technician after high school graduation. After a few months, I was promoted to Senior Kennel Technician. I attended Indiana University of Pennsylvania after enrolling in the Pre-Vet tract in 2015. After deciding I no longer wanted to go to Vet school, I graduated with a Bachelor of Sciences in Biology 2019.
I continued to work as a Senior Kennel Technician until 2020 when Covid struck. Due to Covid restrictions, I was forced to find other work and briefly left Walkers. I returned in August of 2020 as Kennel Manager, eager to take on a new role. Since this time, I have been taking on several new titles and now find myself as General Manager.
I attended the Pet Boarding Expo in Hershey in 2022 to help further strengthen my knowledge and skills in the animal care industry. I am also animal first aid and CPR certified.
My training, experiences, and studies have prepared me for my role as General Manager here at Walkers. I never shy away from a challenge and always looks forward to serving all of our wonderful clients and guests. If you see me around, say hello!
Meet our Murrysville Manager, Alex
Welcome to Walkers! I’m Alex, the Assistant Manager for our Murrysville location. Animals have been my passion ever since I was a little girl. I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to caring for animals when I was 3 years old!
In 2019 I worked at Walkers before moving out of state and returning to my former career field as a professional Animal Trainer/Caretaker in aquariums & zoos. For nearly 10 years I dedicated my life to learning how to care for exotic animals through internships then paid positions. I have experience working with California Sea Lions, Harbor Seals, Cheetahs, Parrots, Coatimundis (Coata what you say?), Reptiles, Hoof-stock, & so many more! In between jobs in the zoo field I worked at two doggy daycares, Walkers being one of them.
It brings me great joy to care for your beloved children & apply my knowledge when it comes to observing/recording animal behavior, facility cleanliness, providing the needs for each individual guests of ours, & training staff members who also have a love & passion for animals.
One of my favorite aspects of this job is being able to accept ALL types of dogs & cats no matter their behavioral history & whether or not they like other friends. We can really specialize the care for each individual. Your fur baby will always receive patience, exceptional care from myself & our staff but most importantly never ending love.❤️ In my spare time you’ll find me going on hikes with my fur baby, reading, & spending quality time with friends/ family. I look forward to meeting all of you! 🙂
So happy to have you here at Walkers! My name is Elijah, and I am the Assistant Manager at our North Versailles location. I have been wildly passionate about dogs my entire life, and have been in this field for five years now (I’m 22!). I have worked at other dog daycare facilities, shelters, with police K9s, and as an explosives K9 handler.
My hobbies are dogs, dogs, and more dogs! I compete competitively with my dogs in a variety of sports, from American Schutzhund to weight pull. In my free time, I like to win staring contests with dogs, teach my dogs to find things, and loving my dogs. I do photography and play games on the side!
I have seen it all when it comes to dogs, and nothing makes me happier than knowing that it allows us here at the North Versailles location to give your dog the absolute best care, regardless of breed or background–we will always find a way! I know how special dogs can be to us, and I am ecstatic to give your furry best friend a safe, enriching stay while you’re away!
